2010 Sailing Season
After a really dismal 2009 we are all looking forward to better times this coming season. JARIC took to the water early in April and COOT was launched yesterday. Good News! Mark has restored the scow MAGIC built by ex Commodore Howard Goodrick in the 1970s. This lovely boat has been in storage for ages and was taken over by club member Mark Barnby and lovingly restored over the winter. The boat was launched today in blustery showery conditions. All went well with few problems and a maiden voyage commenced after lunch. With two reefs and a gusty N-Easter we did a couple of lengths of the straight and then put her to bed before any ore rain fell. Follow the link below to see the pics of the maiden voyage All being well we will have FOUR traditional scows racing in the near future. First race is due to take place 9th May. Happy sailing to all 02/05/2010
