HESSLE RANGERS AFC

|
Hessle Rangers AFC was formed in February 1976 when the secretary's son was found wanting for a competitive game of football,so together with a few of his mates in the same position,a trial was held to see if a team could be formed. This took place on a snow covered field in Hessle,and it was the Secretaries wife Janet who was the driving force. This was the start and the team joined the Hull Boys Sunday Football League the following September at Under 13 level.
In 2003 the club celebrated it's 25th anniversary.During the past 25yrs the club has expanded and can proudly boast that we now have a team in most divisions of the boys leagues, from Under 9 to Under 18.
Over the years we have enjoyed many successes in various league and cup competitions. In season 1985/86 we expanded into Mens Football both on Saturday and Sunday,the club now has three Mens teams playing in the Hull Sunday Football League.
The A Team have steadily progressed up the leagues from Div 17,as Champions on three occasions and in 1999/2000 season were Premier League Champions,and for the last two seasons have entered the FA Umbro National Cup.
We now have a team in The Humber Premier League.
Over the years we have organised many tournaments both small sided and 11 a side,we have also visited other areas of the UK and played Internationally in Germany,Holland and Italy in tournaments and friendly matches.
The Club has Qualified F.A Coaches and operates a coaching school based on the F.A. Soccer Star Scheme for 6-9 year olds.
The Club also has a Girls Section,with teams playing in the U12, U14 & U16 East Riding Girls League.The Girls will hopefully progress on to reform the Ladies Team.
